The Templates screen of the Reports page provides templates that can be used to create reports in Flowlink Cipher. Report templates are created when creating a report from the Reports List page. See Create a Report for information on creating reports and templates.
The available templates are provided in expandable lists. One list, My Templates, contains templates created by the current user. The other list, Public Templates, contains templates created by other users that have been designated as public. Click the arrow button on the right side of the list to expand or collapse the list.
Controls are provided in both lists to control the number of templates displayed in the list. A maximum of 10 templates is displayed in the list by default. This limit can be changed using the Items per page control below the list. If the number of available templates exceeds the number of templates selected for display, additional pages are added in the list. These pages can be viewed using the left and right arrow buttons.
When creating a report from a template, all settings defined during the report/template creation are retained and applied to the new report, eliminating the need to define these settings each time a similar report is generated.
The following controls are available for each template in the list:
• Show description : This control is used to display the description of the template that was entered at the time the template was created. This is helpful in identifying the appropriate template for the task at hand. Clicking the button opens a dialog box populated with the description.
• Pick site : This control launches the multi-step process used to create a report. The settings defined at the time the template was created will be pre-populated in the fields for each step of the process. These settings can be changed as needed without affecting the template. Complete the process as normal to generate a report from the template.
• Edit template : This control is used to change the settings saved in the template. Clicking the button opens a multi-step process similar to the one used for creating a report, however Step 5: Preview and Save only contains template-specific options. Make any changes necessary in each step and then click Preview and Update Template if the preview is acceptable. A message will be displayed stating that the template was updated successfully.
• Delete template : This control is used to delete templates from the list. When clicked, a confirmation message will be displayed. Click Yes to complete the deletion.
